Kappa Alpha Theta

Beta Iota Chapter University of Colorado

Chapter History

The Beta Iota chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta was founded in 1921.

In 1928, the Beta Iota Thetas moved into our newly built, $40,000, three-story Italian style house at 909 14th St. We stayed there until 1940, when we moved for a year or so to 1300 Pennsylvania. By the fall of 1941, we moved to our present home at 1333 University, and we have remained here for more than 70 years.

In the 1960s, some renovations and expansions to our house were made, raising our live-in capacity to 79 occupants, and 80 if you include our wonderful house mom, Jewel.
