Chapter Service & Philanthropy
Each year, Theta holds philanthropy events to benefit CASA (see CASA tab for more information on the organization). This fall we participated in Kappa Alpha Theta's National Day of Service by cleaning up Boulder creek, making care packages for the homeless, writing Thanksgiving letters for CASAs, and making boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Alongside this Theta event, we also participated in Buffthon which is a 12 hour dance marathon that all Greek houses on campus participate in to raise money for Children's Hospital. Each sorority/fraternity duo sponsored a child and we had a blast dancing with our new best friend, Addison.
Our spring philanthropy, KATWalk, is the biggest event we put on each year! KATWalk is a fashion show where we strive to get as many organizations (Greek and non-Greek) on campus involved as possible. There are two-five "models" from every Greek house on campus, as well as other student groups, that walk in the show and perform a small routine. Each team has two-three Thetas as "model coaches" to help them get their routine together. Events like these are a great way to raise money for such an amazing cause (as all the proceeds go directly to CASA), and they are a lot of fun to put on as well!
